- New Norfolk is located 35 kms North West of Hobart.
The New Norfolk Caravan Park is situated on the banks of the beautiful
Derwent River.
- The Town of New Norfolk was settled in 1808 and spreads
over both sides of the Derwent River with the main shopping district
a six minute walk from the Caravan Park. The town is home to many antique
stores as well as the oldest continuously licensed Hotel in Australia
the Bush Inn.
- From the New Norfolk Caravan Park there is a walking
track that follows the Derwent River through the Wetlands and to Tynwald
Park where you can see wildlife such as ducks and platypus. The River
itself is a great fishing spot.
- Attractions start within a minute's walk of the Park
with the Devil Jet a thrilling boat ride down the Derwent River through
the rapids and back again. There are many other tourist attractions
within the surrounding areas that are appropriate for people of all
ages such as the Salmon Ponds, Mount Field National Park and Historic
Willow Court.
- The New Norfolk Caravan Park is a small peaceful welcoming
park that has an overall RACT Rating of 3½ Stars
